We understand that paying for a call out isn’t always ideal, especially if your windows are in reach so our team have put together this helpful blog on how to diagnose issues with your motorised roof window.
Over time, your remote can become disconnected from window/blind if not in regular use. This most commonly can happen just after winter when the windows haven’t been used as naturally people tend to use roof windows in warmer weather. To fix this, you will need to press the reset button on your windows and re-connect to the remote.
Please see our demo here:
Alike our first point about remote disconnection, your INTEGRA window is more likely to become disconnected from the remote control when left in vent mode.
What is vent mode?
When your window is left in vent mode, this is usually caused by the roof windows built in rain sensor being activated whilst the window is left open. The rain sensor will kick in when it detects moisture or rain and close. It’s important to check that if your window has shut itself that the vent bar is flush to the window not ajar as this means the window is unlocked.
Leaving the window in the vented position long term can cause the remote to disconnect and for the window to need re pairing to the remote. If the window is out of reach, this will be tricky for you as the homeowner.
You can solve this by ensuring that you use the remote to properly close the window when the rains sensor has been activated, this will mean the window is fully locked and remote is not searching to complete a full closure.
Is your remote simply not turning on? First point of call is always to change the batteries in the remote. If replacing the batteries doesn’t get the remote working, check for any visible damage.
After following the above steps, you may establish that you need a replacement remote for your windows. We can supply and install this for you.
